The cooperative alien-shooter Fireteam Elite is officially getting a sequel this summer, and the new entry is bringing a bigger squad to the fight. While the original game focused on three-player teams, the upcoming title will expand to support four-player co-op, allowing for more chaotic firefights against the Xenomorph threat.
Developer Cold Iron Studios confirmed that Fireteam Elite 2 will feature a full campaign that picks up after the events of the first game. The team is promising a "deep" customization system, letting players tailor their Colonial Marine loadouts with new weapons, perks, and class abilities. The goal is to give each squad member a distinct role, whether they prefer heavy firepower, tactical support, or stealthy reconnaissance.
The sequel is also expected to introduce new enemy types and environments, moving beyond the derelict ships and colonies of the original. While specific details on the story remain under wraps, the studio emphasized that the game will focus on tight squad-based tactics and intense survival horror moments. No exact release date has been given beyond a summer window, but the announcement has already generated excitement among fans who wanted a more polished and expanded experience.
